Manager: You ‘ ve got a great idea. Why don’t you brief your idea to the designer?
Content writer: ((@#$hit! this is exactly what I didn’t want.)) Sure! Why not?
Unfortunately, writers have to put that extra effort to brief the designer. This is an unspoken clause by all clients, at all agencies.
Well…but you’ve got to do the honors. And, that’s why content writers should know some design. It might sound unfair but, this unfortunate feeling is the first step to your huge fortune.
Fortunate side of knowing some design.
Content writers are in the business of communication. And, understanding how communication is designed is essential for content writers.
Unlike, fiction writers and abstract artists, where the viewers are left to interpret for themselves, content development works another way around.
Content writers need to understand communication design. So, if you have to wear the hat of a communication designer, you need to develop the relationship between the viewer and the visuals.
Here is an example. I have used the same word. But, what communicates better?
You are looking at the exact same word. But, they are transformed by color and typography to communicate the message, emotion, purpose, and function of the word.
As a content writer, it is obvious and at some point eventual to know how your words should be presented. Even yet, packaged.
For the sake of some more gossip. Share this among your network on WhatsApp. Ask them if they resonate with this dialogue.
